life told in colors

Blank, white canvass inviting
thoughts, feelings, inner- self unfolding
its music, dance, celebration beholding.

Thick and shiny paste
goes round and round on palette
bristles of brush caressing
hidden emotions in every color
sheer joy of union brimming
as colors spread over canvass
telling stories from that beating canvass
the treasure in blood red, many unseen images
strokes and styles blending depth and heights
 you name it different
but like pond, lake, river and ocean
it’s just life and life in color
captured on canvass.

Blank, white canvass inviting
thoughts, feelings, inner-self unfolding
its music, dance, celebration beholding.

  1. Sreeja, I can tell by this poem that you are a painter, as you 'painted' the process of painting so very well with your writing! There is something very inviting about that blank white canvas, isn't there?

  5. Yes! Your poem lovingly, exactly shares the way a painter feels. Your words do both arts justice.

  12. What a beautiful poem of art in so many ways. Lovely thoughts about that blank canvas and every day we get to paint (or write) it all over again...in our own colors.

  13. I always see so many similarities between painting and poetry...after all, a blank page is just another kind of canvas waiting to be filled. Beautifully captured!

  14. I love that you have encompassed all art in one. It is what the eye sees when the third is open. Very lovely.

  16. I love how you begin and end with the same verse. I have done some posts the same. You describe your love of color and it touches my heart as I am an artist and color is what makes my world a better place.
