I celebrate.....

I see, yes I see and hear and I know,
that  how much you do for her,
your little princess.
for god knows, nobody can do it better;
your inner strength,
your way of taking things,
yes, he knows, nobody can do it better,
he gifted you with the fairy,
she is the cutest fairy I ever saw---
the one who feels everything with her heart,
she thinks from her heart,
they say she is slow
she is  little back,
just behind her age.
I perceive age is what we live
who is perfect? to decide on things.
mother, you are the one.
yes I see, you dwell on things,
day and night, days on end,
things to make world apt for her
or may be to make her apt for the world.
the world that is running fast
fast and fast
to where? I don’t know
I stand here
I can see and wish
if the whole of the motherhood
can do a little bit of what you do
I wish, if it was so,
world would have been a celebration,
celebration of love and strength.
And here I celebrate your strength.

  3. So beautiful. What a tribute to mother's and a look at the thoughts and how she is always helping her child to have the best life. I think the world celebrates lots of mothers like these and mourns for those that got through life without that love.

  6. This is absolutely beautiful, Sreeja. Touches my heart. We lost a woman, in our family, who celebrated life and its subtle limitations quite the same. She cared for her daughter, who stayed slow to this world her whole life, with such patience and passion. An inspiration for the 'whole of motherhood'. I'm glad that you were able to feel this.

  9. Your words are beautiful! This poem impacted me in a profound way ... I still have my 'just behind his age' son living with me ~ he brings joy and completion to my life ~ I am blessed to know his siblings will be there for him ~ always. 'I celebrate your strength' is a powerful line!

  16. Love is everything in life. I this crass materialistic world where everything is categorised love gets short shrift. The more you give the more that is returned. May your life be continue to be blessed by your little girl.
