Putting some unorganized musings....

(Pic from Google images)

Morning dew’s freshness drips in here
Dreams and flowers missed are weaved here
All those lonely moments are treasured here
Agonies and fears shared, it’s so secure here
Wisdom shared in lyrics, its only sunrise here.

      And so

Poetry for me is a feeling of growth
Like a tiny tree spreading its roots
To everywhere, where there is water for thirst
To absorb the very essence of truth
To be in the garden of wisdom
Like a tiny tree spreading its roots
In the mud and soil of life
To spread its shade and beauty across
For generations to rejoice.

        And  yes

It is words uttered in silence
Thoughts poured in essence
Like the old vine that is precious.

     And

I am here putting my first steps
learning my alphabets..............

  3. Lovely poetry Sreeja. Poetry is ...everything, isn't it? All of life has some type of poetry if we see, hear, touch, taste and smell it then write with it from our soul. We are deeply connected to everything.
I loved your garden of wisdom :)

  5. This verse is beautiful

"It is words uttered in silence
    Thoughts poured in essence
Like the old vine that is precious."

Brilliant metaphor. I have aged grapevine growing on my arbor and it is indeed most precious.

  7. nice...i like the thought of it as slow grow from a seed, the roots expanding and then unfurling above...and that its motivations as well include the next generation....well done ma'am

  8. "Wisdom shared in lyrics, its only sunrise here"
The first stanza of "here" feels inner as if the interior song were night and the words begin emerging at sunrise as a tiny tree, a seedling that already has roots inside but now begins the outer spread as trunk, limbs, etc as the roots continue to take nurture from everywhere but giving back visibly is just as wide and just as everywhere. I love the image of the poet (you) in the garden of wisdom as an infant just learning. It makes me wonder at the biblical story of Adam and Eve--did they grow the tree of knowledge as they named the animals? What a harsh punishment to be split off right after discovering themselves! My all of us find nurture in the Garden, night and day!

  10. Beautiful, Sreeja! To what's been said already, I can just say that you write with all your heart and emotions out open.

    I loved these lines:

It is words uttered in silence
    Thoughts poured in essence
Like the old vine that is precious.

    And

I am here putting my first steps
    learning my alphabets..

    Again... beautiful. :)

  11. Like a tiny tree spreading its roots... i like that...it is for sure something that grows and needs to be nurtured but then will spread and grow beautiful fruits

  12. The central image of the tree is really captivating. The notion that poetry and truth and poetry, as well as wisdom, is very special for me too. I agree that there is an intimate link between them. The poem itself expresses the desire to experience beauty in all of its forms.

  18. Beautiful images concretely creating poetry - the oldness of words, the symbols for thoughts, the depth of old vines tying language to language and culture to culture - poetry connects us to all who spoke, all who wrote, all who thought, and we crawling on the earth now are learning the alphabet once more. Thrilling poem with wonderful allusions.
