Caged

Whirlwind of muse,
empty mind of words,
they laughed without love;
I am closed in,
in caged time.
Meanings fly high and love
stood far from words,
and died all muse.

  1. interesting...rather surreal in the imagery but the feeling comes across really well in this...esp in love standing far off....and dying...

  2. Painful write...there are times I feel caged, but I don't stay locked up long...Nice Work!

  4. A muse is meant to be free so we can dream..."love stood far from words" "laughed without love"... caged indeed.

  5. This feels so stark and lonely. Your words are sad.

  6. Don't you hate that? Muses are supposed to help, not empty us with whirlwinds and laugh and not love, caging us, leaving us . . . They'll be back wanting your undivided attention--like unruly children--but you may have found new ones where you least expect.
