Rain in...

Deep and mute, the resting violin;
noon spread flat on silent terrain,
flares of mirage, of beaten days
carried faded pages of old stories.
Far away a dark cloud hovers
moving dead winds, withered tears;
deep and mute, the resting violin
aches for torrents of rain;
fill in, wash out,
fill in, wash out,
cool out flares of old stories
as night sets in, nourish yellow flowers
over purpled grooves
for a dew-soft dawn … as it sets in
with melodies of free birds.

  1. When it is far away and we still are accustomed to it, it's hard to hear the freedom songs. What a great use of the haunting violin as symbol.

  3. there is a nice dance in your words...the freedom though, it is worth whatever it takes to get to it...
    really like the image of the resting violin at the beginning and how that plays with the songs in the end...

  11. I was glad to read of the free birds who could fill in for the muted violin.
    This reads nice with the repetition to help. To me it was like having a dream that I could not interpret.
