In pursuit

soul that travels
between light and dark
among thrown out choices
of light and dark
sits in contemplation

a tree that sheds all its leaves
for a lush green rebirth
the moon that dies
for a brighter rebirth
aching redemption

endless journey
between light and dark
between choices
between emotions
withering away
a thousand times

soul that travels
between light and dark
ends up with no prejudice
ends up with no verdicts
ends up with no gains

like the trees of lush green rebirth
like the full moon of night sky
lives and dies, dies and lives
in love for light, in love for light and
in love for light…

  1. I really like the end here.. the trees seeking the light, and in the lyrical form of your choice... the answer might be found in constantly searching for light

  3. Whistles!!❤️❤️This is absolutely incredible writing, Sreeja. I love how you have combined the two prompts here.. especially in awe of "endless journey between light and dark, between choices, between emotions withering away a thousand times" such raw and palpable emotions run through your verse. Beautifully executed. Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support ❤️❤️ Wishing you and your family Happy Diwali (in advance) ❤️❤️

    Lots of love,

  7. I love the wisdom in this - the sense that having a fluidity in perception..knowing light and dark are transient speaks of much knowing..

  8. Oh, Sreeja, stunning interpretation of both prompts. You portray the struggle between good and evil, between light and dark and plagues our world and each of us, individually.

  9. The circle of existence...light to dark to light....never ending and wonderfully represented in your words XXX

  10. Beautiful...love the circles of life you have drawn, and then the repetition at the end is perfect!

  11. The use of repetition in the piece helps drive home the cyclical nature of the dance between darkness and light.
