Ever new...

Clouds rolling in
Yesterdays flowed out
Fresh morning

…days of water paints and comic books; cats beneath the dining table, white mustache moving with stories…
…the house got demolished; no more images to trace. Does that road still carry the same wind, with a faint smell of trees and flowers and manured sand…?

the gooseberry tree
the swing, grass, flowers,
the sand that taught first prayers

Here the roads are busy. Images float in a rush; windows open to vague images, still something unravels many layers of insight…

Rain, rain and rain
The river grows, flows
Life’s ocean waiting
.

  1. Whistles!!❤️❤️I absolutely adore this - such a sense of emotion and such redolent images in your poem here Sreeja, especially "the gooseberry tree, the swing, grass, flowers, the sand that taught first prayers" left me breathless. Beautifully executed. Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support❤️❤️

    Lots of love,

  2. This is beautiful. Your form enhances the concept of brevity and your images reveal a part. Excellent work.

(I closed my other accounts but you can find my 'brevity' at my new blog https://fmeoformyeyesonly.wordpress.com/

  5. A welcoming start, the emotional write up, beautifully penned second haiku and the simple end; together makes it a much appreciable haibun and a mindblowing read :)
