rays of dawn
falling crisp
on icy pane,
dreams drool
melting on edges
dripping truth,
lazy frame
slowly stirs,
dreams and truth
mix and melt,
warmth and cold
cuddle and dissolve,
surreal thoughts
rise and ignite
day’s start---
a day more to catch butterflies
I can sense the contrasting emotions for dawn
ReplyDeleteIt's as if the sunrise is stretching through the words, hands extended towards morning...
ReplyDeleteLovely, unexpected finish.
ReplyDeleteI liked these line showing how thought reacts to the dawn: "surreal thoughts
ReplyDeleterise and ignite
day’s start"
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous write!! ❤️
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dawn chorus
ReplyDeleteMesmerizing moment. Well crafted
ReplyDeletedreams And truth mix and melt...nice image!
ReplyDeleteI can really relate to the dawn you've described with melting ice and thoughts--your words flow well :)
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand keep still and the butterflies might catch you for a quick kiss then off again.
ReplyDeleteEach descriptor of dawn becomes a brilliant line in this poem, Sreeja!
ReplyDeleteMornings do feel magical with all the possibilities of the day to come. Though sometimes those possibilities can elude us, just like butterflies do when we try to catch them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to greet the day, I feel a slow awakening here, lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteThe ending was unexpected....love it Sreeja ~
