Seeking...

Firefly
George Seeley (1907)

peak of a monsoon flowed turbulent
bedlam

                          fingers gripped on emptiness
                         legs pushing forward
                         a body of existence

penumbral being waking in turbulence
seeking vision
play of shadows and lights
in drifting waters

                               impeccably indecipherable gaze
                              consciousness
                               may be a globule of light waits
                              the quenching sight  of a voyager

the cypher of being and non-being
circling the globule

body of existence
bedlam in drifting waters

  1. Sreeja, you have blown me away with your excellent word choice in this poem: monsoon, penumbral, globule.. How they all sparkle for me in your brilliantly phrased lines. This is a most beautiful poem.

  3. My goodness this is absolutely splendid writing, Sreeja!💞 Such brilliant wordplay here especially love; "a globule of light waits the quenching sight of a voyager."💞

  4. "impeccably indecipherable gaze" just hearing the words aloud of this poem is a present.

  5. I love the shape of this poem, Sreeja, and the movement in the language, especially:
    'peak of a monsoon flowed turbulent
    bedlam';
    'the cypher of being and non-being
    circling the globule';
    and
    'bedlam in drifting waters'.

  7. The drifting I think is what I loved most here as for me it captures the image perfectly

  8. The first two lines are definitely my favorite.

    "fingers gripped on emptiness" ... That's too often the way, isn't it?

    I love this line as well: "impeccably indecipherable gaze"

  9. Time of the monsoons. I liked various aspects here Sreeja, cleverly thought of, great imagination. Bedlam without mayhem unless the voyager comes with quenching activity.

    bedlam in drifting waters

    This more or less sums up what to expect of her. Can be most intimidating!
