Rain, sun and I...

I poured down from the Raintree leaves
quite a few times and smiled through them,
quite a few times; does rain know
how to catch on the broken ends of thoughts
and carry on connecting you from dot to dot?
Some stories read and seen lingers,
snatches you out of your sight
and leaves you up somewhere
 between clouds and emptiness;
somewhere you get lost between the bliss
of knowing greater things, indecipherable,
and things that push you back to flesh and bones
and there in between those blissful commotions,
yes I mean blissful commotion, you get to know
love is being yourself and in you dwells the universe,
throbbing with songs and stories; or love is universe
and you, the very grain of its existence…
So let me, again and again, drip from those leaves
and let me smile through them until only bliss remain
and no commotion…

  1. "Blissful commotion" is a very well thought. Even through the extremities of this duality, of experiencing life beyond the confines of flesh and being still rooted in it, there is some bliss to be found. I liked this bit: "love is being yourself and in you dwells the universe".
    Well-penned.

  2. I like the sense of wonder you developed in this piece. There's a playfulness too in some of the imagery that pulls me in.

  3. "Love is being yourself", how true and lucky are those who are happy this way in this world of pretence. This is such a beautiful poem.

    (1) Oneness with the rain and sun--delightfully Zenny!

    (2) At another blog people had a lot of fun inventing a mythical bird called a Reedhaunter before someone told us that that's the actual English name of a real bird. So, is Raintree the actual English name of a real tree?

  8. I love the oxymoron 'blissful commotion' and the lines:
    '...does rain know
how to catch on the broken ends of thoughts
and carry on connecting you from dot to dot?'
    and
'somewhere you get lost between the bliss
    of knowing greater things, indecipherable,
and things that pushes you back to flesh and bones'.

  10. Chaos can be delightful, indeed... if while we are lost in the music of its madness, we find ourselves to dance around with. I really like this!

  11. Blissful commotion indeed. :)

Actually, that's a really wonderful "contradiction" - it expresses the inherent nature of life - of being - and I suppose the idea, aim is to find ways to live in peace and harmony with this aspect.

I like the idea of the raintree and falling down through it's wet leaves ... that has a sad but still peppy feeling to it - speaks of hope and a determination to work through the chaos and find some even keel.
