the windows
and
the ventilations
they
held dust from yesterdays
piles
of papers
bills
and receipts
sum
of thoughts and expenses
dust
and waste
idle
stuffs
every
corner vignettes of past
brush,
wipe, sponge
that
strange urge to bring grace
fragrance
and some sparkle
still
something was missing
something
was absent…
(that strange
urge to coil and coil
to the point
where it will explode
to ancient
forests and streams)
on
canvas and papers
i
am making streams and leaves
will hang them soon to the clean walls

A beautiful hymn to the psychology of the creative spirit. So lovely and affirming to read. Thank you Sreeja
ReplyDeleteReally love how you draw the images from that moment of your world. Sometimes a poet just have to look around to find a poet in the way light might fall.

From that stanza down; absolutely fantastic.
Especially loved the last half when this poem really got down to business!

It is good to clean first and then hang the new streams and leaves.
ReplyDeleteDelightful play with light.
ReplyDeleteHang them up on clean walls! Specially like your thought process: that strange urge to bring grace
ReplyDeletefragrance and some sparkle
I love how we're moved from the mundane of piles of bills and receipts to the urge to create something of "grace, fragrance and some sparkle." Beautiful idea to hang your creation on clean walls!
