Marriages are made in heaven

Here Mish asks to reflect on a wedding for the Haibun. It could be yours, the wedding of friends, family or even a wedding you observed from a distance.

When you have an ocean in a few words,
The one who reads discovers their own reflection.
The writer vanishes. Meanings change.

  1. I like how you hint at the difference between woman and man in the opening sentence, Sreeja, and then develop that thought in the rest of your haibun: the ‘small stories of the separate lives they have lived’ and the ‘separate space and times, given and taken, lived and borrowed from a world designed by man’. The glimpses of the moon are hopeful, and the haiku sums it up well with the contrast of floating lily pads and ‘roots among tight, dark mud’ – and the dewdrops still shimmering.

  4. I can really feel the strain in this marriage.... anything is a journey, maybe in separate ways through life.

    1. The strain is in the situations than the relationship... thank you so much.
