July

summer bullied,
tugging hard;
sweating,
stinking humidity.
Night shuddered…

July washed the stinky air ardently
pushing the summer beyond the hills.
Summer retreated with vengeance
and July, with its romantic stories poured, flowed through the city
washing down dark poisonous fog; unclogging the veins of the city;
bathing trees and plants; satiating the thirsty earth...

Monsoon danced,
hugging tight;
selling dreams,
she drenched all in her desire...

  1. What wonderful images, summer being pushed behind the hills, the monsoon dancing. Loved this!

  2. I can't stop wondering about what makes the summer stink so badly... And perhaps that's a really good thing, since most of the stuff that can create that sort of stench is best left a few feet away from visualization land.

  3. Ah, the rains and desire have an uncanny relation - one fuels the other, it seems. I always love poems about monsoons.
    Such a pleasant verse.

  4. I think I know a little bit of your summers as we have a heatwave that beats all previous ones... and we are craving rain.

  5. summer swelters for the heat, the humidity, and all the senses (good and bad) that it awakens, beast and beauty - and you've captured that tension well :)
    of course, sweet clearing relief, in the monsoons - which admittedly, fascinate me - since we don't really experience anything like it .... but any rains that can clear and clean sweep the heat and cities to the new breath of dawn is most welcomed!

    1. It was reported that after the heavy rains the city's pollution came down! I could sense that too. Thank you so much!

    They don't discriminate. One wonders though why some are more affected than others. Perhaps retribution of some kind on those who defaulted! Sadly whole communities feel the brunt!

  8. The rains have been crazy this year.. more in April than in July.. equally spawning desire and angst! Unclogging the veins of the city is perfectly right!

  9. Tne monsoon brings well needed relief. The rain washing away all the toxins into the rivers creating more toxin.
